Start Something

A course for people inside organizations who see what needs to change — and are tired of waiting for permission to begin.

Most people don’t lack ideas. They lack commitment. The difference between people who create change and those who don’t is rarely what they know — it’s whether they act.

Start Something follows five stages of the Hero’s Journey, mapped to the reality of organizational life.

Stage 1 — The Ordinary World. The quiet dissatisfaction of the status quo.

Stage 2 — The Call to Adventure. Discovering the one thing worth doing.

Stage 3 — Refusal of the Call. The fear, doubt, and rationalization that stops most people.

Stage 4 — Meeting the Mentor. Finding allies and support for the change.

Stage 5 — Crossing the Threshold. From deciding to doing — your first real step.

This is not career advice, productivity hacking, or entrepreneurship training. It’s about taking initiative inside the job you already have — with small moves, real experiments, and the self-trust to begin before the path is fully approved.

Free Preview Session — June 18, 2026

Start something at work. Without permission.

Thursday, June 18  ·  12:00 – 1:05 PM  ·  Online  ·  Free

Before Start Something launches, join a free 60-minute live session. We’ll look at why waiting becomes a habit, why initiative is more welcome than it looks, and what separates people who start things from people who keep meaning to.

No exercises. No breakout rooms. Just a practical look at what gets in the way — and how to move past it. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of what has been holding you back and a simpler way to think about starting.
